THE BEATLES AND IRELAND - Just bought this book today and am well impressed. I knew some of the facts before but certainly have never seen most of the photographs that appear in it. Immaculate detailed accounts of their Dublin and Belfast Concerts, and a fantastic story of how John Lennon bought an Island off the coast of County Mayo. There s also an inside report on Paul s wedding in Monaghan, all of which I ve never read anywhere before (they interviewed one of the cameramen at his wedding), and there s a complete chart discography of all their charted singles and album in Ireland. Finally when you think you ve read it all, you find out that Paul asked Gay Byrne to be their agent, and you learn that he was the first person EVER to interview them on television, and I though I knew all their is to know about the Beatles. It s impossible to put this book down once you start reading it.FABulous !
